Monsoon ride to Lonavala via mulshi
Last Saturday I had my first monsoon ride to lonavala via Mulshi Lake. Munna called me at 10 am to confirm the ride. I had stated from my home at around 12 PM and reaches munna’s place at around 12:45. He was doing some spark plug setting on his bike. He completed his work and we started from his home at around 1:30PM. Rain shower are at its full swing when we cross chandani chowk towards mulshi.
We stopped on very first ghar to click some photos but then realize that its not possible to click photos in this rain. Munna was carrying his newly bought Nikon D80 and I was carrying borrowed cannon S5. So I suggested purchasing umbrella at next village so that we can try to click picture with cameras without getting it wet. So we bought two umbrellas for 200rs and move ahead towards mulshi. Weather was killing and scenery was really good in that portion of around pune. The moment we reached mulshi both of us were dying to get our camera out to capture beautiful scenery. We took few pictures under our umbrella and move ahead to waterfall place. We had kanda bhajji, sheera and tea there and had clicked few snaps there too. And without wasting our time in crowded waterfall we moved ahead towards tamini. Just on the turn for lonavala there is big steam crossing so I tempted to cross it. It’s a kind of stream which you can find during Himalayan ride. I have crossed the stream twice but munna couldn’t cross the stream as he has changed his silencer back to retro which doesn’t have pressure as free flow silencer.
After playing around with streams we moved towards lonavala. This route is very less traveled and has absolutely no traffic. There are hundreds of waterfalls around but we were looking for the perfect place for shoot. And there comes kundalika point. This place was really awesome. You can see 20’s of waterfall on the mountain ahead with clouds surrounding the place. It’s like a heaven. We took out our camera and umbrella but in that time whole valley is covered with fog and the pressure of wind was too high that we can’t even able to hold our umbrella. But we have enough patience for place like that to click few shots. In that wind, rain and fog we tried our level best to click few snaps. After spending some time there we moved ahead and just after 1-2 km we got a good water flow and waterfalls on the back ground. We can’t resist our self to take more snaps and had a halt there. Then this stopping and shooting continues and we came across a small crossing on a stream. And on the side of that stream there was a tree having beautiful red flowers on it. We both again had a shoot there. But this time during the shoot, umbrella had jus slips from munna’s hand and fell into strong stream and I was nearby to it so immediately catch that using my own umbrella and finally able to get it out of the stream. This place was looking really good. We starts moving ahead as we felt that light will be finished in some time so we will not be able to have a view of this place.
So we open up our throttle to move ahead but one big pot hole comes and silencer of my bike just fell away and the welding was also broken. I fix it immediately by tying it with a plastic rope and move ahead towards lonavala. After clicking some more snaps we finally reached near Amby valley, lonavala. This place was full of fog and we couldn’t see more that 10-15 meters. We took a small halt to get view of this heaven like place. We move ahead towards lonavala, whole route has dense fog so we didn’t stop at tiger’s leap or bhushi dam etc.
After completing one hour ride in 6-7 hours we finally reached lonavala. I was very hungry so we stopped at rama-krishna and filled my stomach with some food. And starts riding back to pune.
I am still in memory of the locations which we have seen in today’s ride. What a awesome and unbeatable ride.
